Professor Daniel Pauly, from the University of British Columbia’s Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries (Vancouver) and Principal Investigator of the Sea Around Us Project.
A high profile marine ecologist, professor Pauly has been frequently rewarded for his work related to world fisheries and his international leadership regarding the protection of marine environments against overfishing and other forms of oceanic exploitation.
WHO IS INVITED
Managers and employees from ministries concerned with the conservation of marine ecosystems and the management of marine protected areas;
University and government scientists working towards the acquisition of new knowledge, particularly as it pertains to coastal habitat;
University students, post-doctoral fellows and research professionals interested in the various aspects of marine sciences within the St. Lawrence system.
